Apple launched Leopard
Published by admin on Tagged Mac, NewsApple launched its newest Mac OS X (10.5) or codenamed Leopard on October 26. The new operating system has a number of new features to enhance user’s experience. One notably feature is Time Machine, an automatic backup software which runs in the background to backup your data on hourly basis. The automatic backup runs without user intervention and it works best with Apple’s Time Capsule. Time Capsule is a wireless router with a built-in 500GB or 1TB hard drive and a USB port for network printing.
Other improvement of the OS can be found in Apple’s bundled software, e.g. Apple Mail, Safari, Calendar and AddressBook. With new Apple Mail, you can customize your email with your lovely photos and design. Apple Mail also has seamless integration with Notes, Todo-List and Calendar.

AdaStar Informatics ventures into Domotics

Domotics (DOMus infOrmaTICS) is Information Technology in the home (domus is Latin for home). Although remote lighting and appliance control have been used for years, domotics is another term for the digital home, including the networks and devices that add comfort and convenience as well as security. Controlling heating, air conditioning, food preparation, TVs, stereos, lights, appliances, entrance gates and security systems all fall under the domotics umbrella.
AdaStar is planning to add AdaHRP, a Home Resource Planning software, into domotics applications. The AdaHRP is currently under beta testing. AdaHRP uses MySQL to store and retrieve information from assets to groceries. The software utilizes a barcode scanner to scan product barcode. AdaHRP is a web based application capable of remote managing assets and groceries outside of home.
The development of domotics application will take stages. The company has planned to roll out its first application by beginning of 2008.

UechiRyu Malaysia is a young and independent karate-do organization under the auspice of UechiRyu with headquarters on Okinawa, Japan. UechiRyu Malaysia is a non-profit organization to preserve the UechiRyu karate-do in its pre-WW2 old style and to spread the old-style karate-do in Malaysia.
AdaStar Informatics sponsors web hosting to UechiRyu Malaysia and to assist the computerization of membership and grading management. The computerization exercise will transform UechiRyu Malaysia to an ultra modern karate-do organization but still retain the old style karate-do training of pre-WW2.

Apple launches iPhone

The iPhone is a multimedia and Internet-enabled mobile phone offering functions of those of a camera phone, a multimedia player and mobile phone.
