Apple launched its newest Mac OS X (10.5) or codenamed Leopard on October 26. The new operating system has a number of new features to enhance user’s experience. One notably feature is Time Machine, an automatic backup software which runs in the background to backup your data on hourly basis. The automatic backup runs without user intervention and it works best with Apple’s Time Capsule. Time Capsule is a wireless router with a built-in 500GB or 1TB hard drive and a USB port for network printing.

Other improvement of the OS can be found in Apple’s bundled software, e.g. Apple Mail, Safari, Calendar and AddressBook. With new Apple Mail, you can customize your email with your lovely photos and design. Apple Mail also has seamless integration with Notes, Todo-List and Calendar.

Besides the major improvement and new features added to Leopard, it also has a new desktop and dock. The Spaces is the new desktop which you will have 4 virtual working desktops or spaces where you can open or group certain tasks or applications. Compare to one desktop, you will not have all applications cramped into one tight desktop space. You can easily switch between the 4 virtual spaces to work on different applications or tasks.

Leopard is the operating system of the 21st century and certainly worth upgrading to. Order a copy now to unleash the power of your Mac.
